About Me
Born in the UK, I have lived most of my
life in Australia and New Zealand.
I am a trained teacher and have spent most of my working life in education,
health promotion and strategic planning working for an Area health Board, a
Division of General Practice, a large teaching hospital in Queensland and an
Independent General Practitioners Association.
I have always been interested in writing but it wasn’t until 1994 that I
started writing seriously, the result being my first book Eye of the Camel
– an historical fiction based on a segment of my father’s life in Palestine
prior to the creation of Israel. My second book, a novel on workplace
bullying (Black
Balloon – Surviving a workplace bully) was released in
July 2008 by Brolga Publishing of Melbourne. I am currently writing my third
novel, Tabariya,
a sequel to Eye of
the Camel.
I am a registered Civil Celebrant and enjoy conducting Weddings, Namings,
Reaffirmations/Renewal of vows as well as Funerals. I have developed a host
of celebrancy resources including a small booklet entitled “Suggestions for Creating the
Perfect Wedding” which I give to all couples who engage
me as their Wedding Celebrant.
I am married with two grown-up daughters (one of whom lives in Whangarei, NZ)
and four gorgeous grandchildren and am the aunt of celebrated country singer
Keith Urban.
